Point Contact Locking Plate

The Point Contact Locking Plate (PCLP) is the next generation in osteosynthesis, offering biocompatibility, stability and efficiency for orthopedic fixation. Based on the PC-Fix project at the AO in Davos, PCLP has been engineered here in Zurich to enhance patient outcomes, streamline surgical procedures, and set a new standard for infection resilience. We exclusively use Titanium (Grade 4 & 5) for the implants to meet strict biocompatibilty criteria.

Locking Screws

A conical press-fit ensures a tight locking of the screw to the plate. This geometry eliminates fretting or micro-motion between the implants and guarantees against push-out. Furthermore, the locking is not compromised when the plate is contoured.

Point Contact

The underside of the PCLP allows for only very small contact areas to the periosteum, reducing compression of periosteal blood vessels.

Low-Profile and Contouring

The use of butteresses allows the plate to sit lower to the bone and simultaneously increases the second moment of inertia – leading to a more rigid stabilization. This design also allows for contouring without deforming the locking screw holes.

SCYON Bead

The SCYON Locking Bead allows for 10° and 25° of angulation in the longitudinal and transverse plane, respectively . The SCYON Bead sits securely to the head of the locking screw and is securely constrained within the plate. In any case, bicortical or lag screws are indicated for use with the Bead.

Optimized Instrumentation

To reduce wasted time and increase operational efficiency, we have focused on developing simple and ergonomic instrumentation. Only use what you need.

Support and Managment

SCYON Orthopaedics AG prides itself in direct support and case managment. We’re interested in improving patient outcomes in the most challenging of cases.
